My Journey
Since childhood, I was always wondering what life is all about and what is my purpose in it. I worried about the state of humanity and dreamed of going out into the world to do humanitarian work. After an undergraduate degree in psychology and philosophy, I found myself studying to be a pharmacist. At the time, it seemed like the most reasonable and practical path to take, based largely on my parents’ well intended guidance. This is how I ended up working in clinical research in major biotech and pharmaceutical companies for eleven years. I am grateful for having played a small role in the development of life-saving cancer medicines, for the organizational and leadership skills, and the Western medicinal and clinical education and practical experience that I received.
At the same time, I was doing a lot of self-exploration through meditation, spiritual studies, and yoga. Although all seemed ‘well’ on the outside, deep inside I felt that this line of work was not aligned with my soul’s purpose. I was also trying to find ways to cope with a lot of health issues such as binge eating, weight gain, severe PMS symptoms, anxiety, depression, and brain fog. I was first introduced to Ayurveda through my study of Hatha yoga. I was instantly captivated by the intuitive wisdom of Ayurveda and began to implement it in my life. The changes in my body and mind were profound. Eventually, I took a grand leap of faith and left my career to start on a new path that felt much more aligned and provided me with a strong sense of purpose and joy in life.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of studying Ayurveda under renowned teachers from deep rooted lineages such as Acharya Shunya, Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. Bharat Vaidya, and Dr. Nambi Namboodiri. I studied in-person at the Ayurvedic Institute and received my Ayurvedic Health Counselor Certificate under Dr. Vasant Lad and the Ayurvedic Practitioner Certification at Ayurved Sadhana Vidyalaya under Dr. Bharat Vaidya. I continue to learn and live Ayurveda in daily life and can’t wait to share it with you.
